Curious about trading Real World Assets? Now you can quickly, simply, and easily. Here’s how:
Real World Assets (RWAs) have quickly become one of crypto's fastest-growing narratives in the fintech and web3 world.
In the past, we’d simply associate the blockchain with cryptocurrencies that we know of today, or NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens).
Today, it's increasingly being used to bring traditional financial assets onchain, from government bonds and commodities to private credit and tokenized stocks.
Think the Tesla stock, but accessible on the blockchain.
Instead of only trading crypto, traders and users can now gain exposure to some of the world's biggest companies directly from decentralized platforms, such as DEXs.
SynFutures has recently opened up its trading platform from perps to RWA trading. No more lengthy onboarding processes and complicated guesswork.
Everyone, no matter your background or geographical location, can get access to the top US companies.
This guide covers everything you need to know, from understanding RWAs to placing your first trade.
What are Real World Assets?
Real World Assets (RWAs for short) are blockchain-based representations of assets that exist outside of crypto.
These can be:
- Stocks
- Commodities
- Treasury bills
- Real estate
- Private credit
- ETFs
- Bonds
Think of tokenization as creating a digital version of ownership that can move across blockchain networks.
Before, you would typically interact with a traditional market platform (TradFi); now, instead, traders can access these assets through blockchain technology.
Companies including BlackRock, JPMorgan, Coinbase, and Franklin Templeton have all launched or invested in tokenization initiatives.
And it doesn’t stop there. Tokenized assets are expected to reach anywhere between $2 trillion and over $10 trillion by 2030, with some estimates placing the market significantly higher as institutional adoption accelerates.
So… why would a trader or native crypto user care?
RWAs bridge two of the world's largest financial ecosystems together: Traditional Finance (TradFi) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
More specifically, it combines the yield and stability characteristics of traditional finance with the programmability, transparency, and 24/7 accessibility of DeFi.
Rather than opening accounts with multiple brokers, traders can access these markets through a familiar DeFi experience.
RWAs have enabled DeFi to offer more opportunities for traders without requiring interaction with centralized platforms.
